New HTML Working Groups
The World Wide Web Consortium has created a new working group to deal with the next HTML standard. Called the W3C HTML Working Group, its aim will be to work from HTML 4.x, adding new features “in a manner consistent with current practice and backward compatible.”
In addition, work on the XHTML standard will continue through the XHTML2 Working Group. Although XHTML wasn’t adopted as quickly or readily as hoped, there is still a need for an XML version of HTML.
