Irritating Internet Words

When I present Web 2.0 workshops to those who know little, they are always taken back by the names of things, e.g., blog, wiki, blogosphere, biblioblogosphere.  We joke about it and move on.  However, YouGov polled over 2,000 adults to determine the most irritating Internet words.  The list includes:

Arizona Library to Shelve by Topic

The Gilbert Library of the Maricopa County Library District in Arizona will be opening in June.  In addition to adding another branch for a growing community, this one will not use either the Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification systems.  The entire collection will be shelved by topic, according to the Arizona Republic newspaper.

Pidgin 2.0 - was GAIM

GAIM, the open source instant messaging aggregator, is now known as Pidgin. The second version of Pidgin is now out. Pidgin includes connections to many more IM programs than other aggregators I’ve seen:
