ProQuest Widgets

Posted by: Christine Peterson on: March 26, 2008

Jenny Levine at The Shifted Librarian has highlighted a new service from ProQuest — ProQuest Widgets — the ability to easily create a search box on your web site that will search all or some of the ProQuest databases.  You could have a search box for just the business databases or just popular literature or just for homework.

To see how this might fit in with your website, ProQuest has created some demonstration pages.  If a login/password is required, they will be challenged for it after typing in their search terms.  If authentication happens using IP address, then users will go directly to the database or be stopped.
