Book Sales Increase Courtesy of Google and Amazon

For years, there has been a controversy over whether providing snippets of books or documents will decrease sales of the item itself. Reuters has posted an article stating that the opposite is true. Publishers such as Oxford University Press, Springer, Penguin, Osprey, Walter de Gruyter, and teNeues have all stated that sales have increased since allowing either Google Book Search or Amazon’s Search Inside (or both) services to search and display parts of their books.
