Yahoo Pipes

This is the first service I’ve seen that allows those without programming or scripting experience to create a mash-up. Yahoo Pipes is a visual development tool that, right now, deals with RSS feeds. Technically, you take find multiple feeds, combine them into one, sort and dedupe, and end up with a single feed. Ultimately, Yahoo will be incorporating other types of data sources.

Calendars make the most sense to me. If you subscribe to RSS feeds from multiple calendars, you could mash them together into a single feed. Feeds from searches of multiple library catalogs? Multiple news sites?

It’s a great idea and, although I’m still figuring it out, I think it has great merit!

Thanks to the librarianinblack, I’ve finally found Pipes help.  Mr. Speaker has pulled together a nice tutorial.
