Arizona Library to Shelve by Topic

The Gilbert Library of the Maricopa County Library District in Arizona will be opening in June.  In addition to adding another branch for a growing community, this one will not use either the Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification systems.  The entire collection will be shelved by topic, according to the Arizona Republic newspaper.

This idea comes from the bookstore arena.  Personally, I have a very difficult time finding books by subject in a bookstore, but that may be because I’m a librarian.  😉

The thing that might be great concerning this discussion board is if you had the ability to sign up to threads that you create; Is this achievable?

Not to my knowledge. I know you can follow the posts and the replies, but haven’t seen an option for following specific tags. Sorry!
