Internet Explorer 8 and Standards

The Web Standards Project encourages the use of web standards in software used on the web — browsers, in particular. They have a quick way to tell if browsers are supporting the major standards — the Acid 2 test. If you see a happy face, you’re set.

Internet Explorer has been one of the most nonstandard browsers available. Within the IE Blog, however, they’ve stated that IE version 8, when in standards mode, has now rendered the Acid 2 Test correctly. This is great news and bodes well for the next release. A beta version should be available sometime in 2008.
