Web-Based Back Up
The New York Times had a great article on ways to back up your data across the Internet. It’s a great way to ensure that your data is not on-site should you have a disaster in your town. In addition, after you set it up, the backups normally take care of themselves — in other words, you don’t have to remember!
This article discusses using trial periods to make sure the services do what they promise, find out how long it will take to do a normal full and/or incremental back up, determine how you can schedule your back ups, check any limitations to the service (limit on the size), the type of support options, and how you can retrieve the files you’ve backed up. It includes names of services, URLs and costs. A very good overview.
