Rare Books Reader

The University of Michigan has created a wonderful rare book reader — the PictureIt Rare Book Reader. The University of Pittsburgh provided the scans and the University of Michigan the programming. Ultimately PictureIt will be available via Creative Commons license.

With the choice of Volume I of the Audubon Birds of America series, they show both the artistic as well as the academic interest this software may provide. And it’s fun to use!
